In revenge for the previous nights shootings, soldiers attack and burn Beard’s Dance Hall to the ground. In the accompanying shooting one Charles Leshhart, a dance hall girl, and Emma Stanley (again) were wounded; Delano, KS. (see: Wk. 22, 06/03/1873)  {001}

In an encampment on the Rosebud River in Montana the Cheyenne and Lakota Sioux hold religious and purifying ceremonies based on visions by Lakota Chief Sitting Bull. The Sundance Alliance will draw the tribes of the northern plains together and set the stage for the major conflicts with the U.S. Army who is already moving against them.  {001}

The Colorado mining town of Creede loses most of its business district to fire. Among the ashes, Soapy Smith’s old haunt, The Orleans Club.
