The great Cheyenne Nation, among the finest of the Indian warriors on the American Western plains. Participants in the demise of Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer’s 7th Cavalry at the Battle of the Greasy Grass on June 25, 1876. These people became the family of the famous trader William Bent, peacemaker of the plains and one of the founder’s of Bent’s Fort in Eastern Colorado to be.
