One of the greatest of the Indian leaders and certainly the finest military tactician among the tribes. A participant in, and often the leader of, numerous battles in the Indian Wars. Present and a valiant fighter in the destruction of Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer’s 7th. Cavalry at the Battle of the Greasy Grass in the Montana Territory, June 25, 1876. Ultimately betrayed and murdered by his own people.
