Farm Wagons and Implements
Here are some of the larger pieces of equipment used by farmers in the Old West. This page is a combination of old photos and new ones so we can see some of the “ways of the times” and some photos that allow closer inspection of what we have left of the old items. As with many others, this page will expand over time. – Doc
Horse Drawn Implements
All of these old horse drawn implements are in the collection of the The Silt Historical Society (Silt, CO). There are more and I plan another photo/identification visit this spring (2016)
Not everything was drawn by horses and mules. Slower but strong, here we see yoked oxen, used for the heavy work.
